Kennel-Free
by Design

Environment

No industrial rows of crates. No cold concrete floors. Dogs at Dear Winnie move freely through the space, relax on sofas, and sleep in cozy, home-like spaces. Being kennel-free isn't just one feature—it's the foundation for everything we do. Being kennel-free isn't just one feature—it shapes everything we do.

02

Indoor & Climate-Controlled

Comfort

Comfortable in every season — protected from heat, humidity, and weather. In Louisiana, this isn't a luxury—it's essential. An outdoor holding yard in August simply isn't where most dogs are most comfortable. Our indoor space is kept at a comfortable temperature year-round.

03

Temperament-Based Grouping

Socialization

Dogs are matched by temperament and energy level — not size alone. A calm large dog may belong with a calm small dog. The goal is always a balanced, settled group — where every dog can relax rather than simply manage. We observe, adjust, and never force pairings that aren't working.

04

Limited Capacity

Quality

We choose quality over volume — deliberately. A smaller group means more attentive supervision, calmer energy, and a space that feels settled rather than crowded. Every dog here is known, not just present. We'll never grow beyond what allows us to provide exceptional care.

05

Clean & Maintained

Environment

We follow daily cleaning protocols to maintain a fresh, welcoming environment. A clean environment isn't just expected — it's a reflection of how we care. It helps every dog feel comfortable and cared for—and gives every owner peace of mind.

Our Responsibility

Not every dog will be the right fit.

Our responsibility is to every guest in our care — not just the one in front of us. If a dog's behavior begins to disrupt the environment we've built, we will say so honestly and work with you on what comes next.

"If a dog's behavior disrupts the environment or compromises safety, we may determine that Dear Winnie is no longer the right fit."

This isn't a rejection — it's a commitment to every other dog who depends on this space being what it's supposed to be. We protect the standard so every dog can relax.

These aren't rules. They're what Dear Winnie is.
